Once (2024)

Incredible doesn’t even begin to cover it! Adding this song to our playlist, expecting big things from you!

(Album Material, March 2025)

Such a great emotion and connection to the song, your performance is outstanding 🫶! I’ll add Once to the Jazz playlist.

(Music Victory, March 2025)

“Once” by 7Sven is a seductive, groovy downbeat bossa nova that seamlessly blends jazz with elements of World Music. The composition is both inviting and sophisticated, showcasing a refined mix of authenticity and meticulous craftsmanship. The smooth, intricate melodies weave together with the precision of the horns, creating a rich texture that flows effortlessly between genres. The track’s beauty lies in its balance — the bossa nova rhythms provide a laid-back foundation, while the melodic lines rise with both elegance and depth. 7Sven’s vocal interpretation is simply stunning, offering a beautiful, touching performance that conveys raw emotion with subtlety. Every phrase feels intentional, drawing the listener into a world of warmth and introspection.

The delicate horns and soulful rhythms form the perfect backdrop, allowing the vocal line to shine. “Once” is a masterclass in blending jazz traditions with global influences, creating a sound that is both timeless and fresh. The track resonates deeply, leaving a lasting impression on anyone who listens.

(PROGland, April 2025)

The structure of the song, I think, balances it and helps to keep the listener attentive. On the style side, I like the fusion of rock, jazz, and a bit of bossa. The combination sounds great, and above all, the production is polished. Great track!

A Dream About A Dream (2024)

I love the intro of the song, it’s excellent because it has suspense and drama that makes you want to hear more. The vocals are awesome, it has a great connection to the rhythm of the song and is in tune and in tune throughout the song (It conveys softness and emotionality). I really like the touch that the piano adds to the song, it gives depth and emotion to the song. The lyrics are also special and have a lot to convey to the listener.

(Mari Cardozo, December 2024)

I loved your song, the instrumental is great, very well played and produced. The vocal has a striking timbre.

(Central Playlists, December 2024)

Incredible your melody, the feeling you convey through it is something that connects us in an immeasurable way. The tones that you put into the melody that gave you that relief.

Reviews:

In a minimalist arrangement, a great vocal performance, dramatic and absolutely visceral, is always important. It is not always necessary to make a big production around this track, since everything in itself can be extremely striking with such simple attributes, such as “The Days They Meet At Midnight”, by 7Sven.

With an instrumental guided by percussion, a few synthesizers and the voice as the main element, the song is enough for these characteristics and does not need much to be striking, nor penetrating to the listener. Its drama, viscerality and emotion are transposed in every second instrumental vocal and in the subtle form of arrangement of the composition, which in itself is strong enough to be legendary.

Are You Serious (2024)

“Are You Serious” is a calm and relaxing proposal, starting simply to create a bond of closeness between the listener and you. The vocals maintain the calm and peace used in your other projects, with a slight reverb that helps maintain the atmosphere. The melody goes gradually “in crescendo,” enriching the experience. Loved the variation at 2:22. In general, it’s a great track, congratulations!
(Cookfy, August 2024)

A song with a soft air and a well-managed energy. Delicate textures add sensations of pleasant listening.
(Difusion Parlante, July 2024)

What a good song, I liked the lyrics, Your interpretation around it, the calm music as it accompanies, I liked the production, everything in its place, the mix, the sounds well leveled, congratulations.
(daChance Music, July 2024)

“Are You Serious”, by 7Sven, is one of those songs that brings together a calm melodic framework but whose lyrics show a reflective power that is extremely crucial in today’s world. With this juxtaposition, marked by excellent vocals and minimalist instrumentals, the song evokes and questions the reason for so much selfishness in a society that should be increasingly collectivist. With an important message, it would be very easy to get lost in a more contemplative instrumental, something that doesn’t happen here. The calm arrangement of guitars, pianos and percussion sets the tone for the vocal, emotional and extremely unburdened by the messages given and their impact. And from there comes the great point of the track: the vividness and viscerality of its messages in a beautiful and artistically powerful framework and musical performance.

My Beautiful Nightmare (2024)

“My Beautiful Nightmare”, by 7Sven, is a breathtaking ode to vocal jazz that combines modern with classic in an interesting and unique way.
With exceptional production, the track has an absolutely atmospheric musical structure, which involves the listener within a calm compositional construction, but not too slow, and with a jazzy and strong cadence, although not aggressive. Everything here forms a beautiful song, which appears epic in its subtleties: The piano work, some semi-acoustic guitars; the shy rhythm section and the brilliant vocals, which blended softness, warmth, power and presence.
All of this forms a singular epic composition, symbiotic, dreamlike and engaging for the listener. A brilliant composition, which feels like an apotheosis with every second and chord played. The structure of the composition, based on subtle changes between sections, is made in an extremely homogeneous way. The nuances form at the same time dark, technical, seductive, complex, beautiful, and thought-provoking for the listener.
A song that is definitely worth listening to. Exceptional. (PROGland, 19th Feb. 2024)

The fact that “My Beautiful Nightmare” starts without an introduction/prelude is very effective, capturing the listener’s attention from the first minute.
The instrumental has a calm and elegant rhythm, creating a formal and refined atmosphere. On the other hand, the vocals have great intonation, with a very suitable delivery. Both the instrumental and the voice complement each other, enriching the previously created atmosphere. The melody changes throughout the track (such as 3:22) help maintain the dynamism of the song, avoiding it from feeling repetitive.  (Cookfy, 15th Feb. 2024)

To Lose It All (2023)

An aminazing pop creation, ranging from 1960s vocal and 1970s soft rock music to predomantly ballad-heavy music of the 1980s, with pop, soul, R&B, quiet storm and rock influences, beautiful tenor vocal lines, expressing romance. (Black&White Music, 9th Aug. 2024)

Hello friend, Merry Christmas, what a pleasure to receive your song for the first time, I really liked it, it is soft, modern, calm, like a slow caress, it has melancholy and feeling, I enjoyed it a lot, I congratulate you for the work you have done, I add you to my playlist, big hug. (daChance Music, 25th Dec. 2023)

“To Lose It All” is a captivating song, performed by a voice full of sweetness. The song has a warm instrumental arrangement that is able to create a cozy musical atmosphere. (Caoba Records, 16th Dec. 2023)

7Sven’s “To Lose It All” comforts and moves the listener within the hypnotic made-in-basics.
Permeated by a simple melody, the track within an intimate set produces a hypnotic and atmospheric sensation for the listener. In addition to the sensation itself, the track brings together very retracted but very beautiful guitar lines, permeating between the simple, the direct, and the intense. The rhythm section, also minimalist, further corroborates the emotional and emotionally quiet aesthetic of the composition. The vocals are also equally good.
In its layered atmosphere, the song forms a vicious cycle in every second in the best sense, accustoming the listener to that sound in a welcoming, intimate and contemplative way. Definitely the tune that deserves all the attention and respect from anyone who is a fan of a good dose of melancholy without sounding appealing and with high instrumentation. (PROGland, 12th Dec. 2023)

Such a deep jazz instrumental. A very beautiful melody, everything sounds quite professional. (Voxwave Magazine, 10th Dec. 2023

About the Songs

The Days They Meet At Midnight:
The song tries to capture the joy and the sadness, the love and the longing that comes when one day ends and is gone forever and a new day arrives.

Are You Serious:
This Song was written out of anger about a society that rewards being egoistic and not caring for other people who might need help. Musically it is quite sparse but with a catchy hookline, a restrained mixture of an acoustic guitar with heartfelt lyrics and a synthesizer, which in the end gets a little emphatic: It could all be so easy, come on…

Mirror In The Sky:
This Song was written in the morning after one of my crazy “final negotiations” in a hotel in Munich. It is supposed to capture that crazy and exhausted mixture of feelings after the event. It is always weird and inhuman mixed with a feeling of “we against the world”, which I of course somehow do love.

My Beautiful Nightmare:
After reaching a wider audience and other platforms and after successfully being included in playlists around the world with “To Lose It All” at the end of 2023, here is my new song. Musically it is more Jazz-Rock oriented and harmonically more complex, but it also has a very warm and romantic feel to it, with a little more edge. Do You like Your nightmares? Probably not, but what if they return again and again and start to feel like an old acquaintance, and after some years even like a friend?

To Lose It All:
Being in love is the only thing that counts. Even in the very final moments of a love affair, when both know, “it’s over”. And during that one final try and that one final kiss, the world loses its shape once more and there’s nothing else for a second – before they lose it all. This is the emotion I wanted to can in this song.
Musically it is supposed to be both easy to listen to and deep at the same time, with a catchy hookline but without a traditional pop-song-structure.  It’s just two guitars, keyboard, bass and drums, on the surface a pretty simple arrangement, but with some hidden complex undercurrents. It is supposed to creep into You like a novel that’s easy to read but afterwards keeps buzzing around somewhere in the back Your mind. The guitar piece after the end of the lyrics again emphasizes the feeling of “I don’t want to stop, even if it hurts”.
The song was written and recorded very fast, it had to get out somehow.
Musical influences are The Pearlfishers, George Michael, Rufus Wainwright and some singer-songwriters of the 1970s like James Taylor.

Sometimes It Is Easy:
A birthday song for a dear friend, who keeps encouraging me in many ways, in arts and life.
We also cooperated on an album, “July Wind”, and probably there will be more to come from our team.

Standing In Line:
For one of my dearly loved ones, with whom I share some deep passions; but this is a tribute to Your own – and also about our city of lights.

Something New:
For one of my dearly loved ones, written and recorded in a very special and also hard time for us both, when we were losing someone that was very close to us. The song is supposed to show, that with love and hope there can be a beautiful future and I’ll always be there for You.

Over the River:
Written around 1995 or 1996 this song deals with misty dreams about an unclear future. It is a typical student’s lament about things You have and haven’t, both melancholy and hopeful at the same time.

The Train:
Written in 2022, this song is about getting into the mood for getting rid of bad habits – like jumping on a train that doesn’t stop… which is a good thing.

Kisses, Oh Heaven:
Written in 2002, this song is about pure romance, the adventures and the little things and the precious time, when everything feels magical.

Believe:
Written in 1998, this is a song about the self-deception that comes with love, and the desperate hope, that sometimes the truth is not the truth.

World Outside:
Written in 2003, this song is about working in a company, where You give a part of yourself away when You enter the office – and try to get it back when You leave.
